Sunday Psalm #323
October 21, 2018
The Lord has done great things for us
Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)
October 28, 2018
Our settings in English for next Sunday are by Alejandro D. Consolacion II, and Tinnah M. dela Rosa while our Filipino setting is by Dennis N. Marasigan. We are also throwing in the bonus paraphrased version of the psalm found in the Gaudium Mass songbook in case you wish to use this as a post-communion song.
You will have a fuller appreciation of this Sunday's responsorial psalm if you prepare it not only in relation to the first reading and gospel but also in the context of where the church is on the journey of Ordinary Time. In this light one of the "great things" God does is grant you the grace to follow Jesus to the cross. How prepared are you to accept this kind of great thing? Do you believe that the weeping it brings will be turned into joy? For what help do you need to ask Jesus? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2012, p. 233)

Sunday Psalm #322
October 14, 2018
Lord, let your mercy be on us Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B) October 21, 2018 Our setting in English for next Sunday is by Tinnah M. dela Rosa while our Filipino settings are by Marc Misael S. Gamil and Dennis N. Marasigan. Several linguistic shifts occur in this responsorial psalm. In the first strophe you tell the assembly that God is trustworthy. In the second strophe you call the assembly to see the eyes of God looking upon those who trust they will be delivered from death. In the third strophe you speak to God in the name of the assembly: "May your kindness, O Lord, be upon us who have put our hope in you." What do these shifts say about the journey of discipleship? How might you express these linguistic shifts in the way you sing the psalm? In the way you live your life? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2012, p. 229) Please click the pictures or the highlighted link to download the high resolution PDF files of our composers. Sunday Psalm #321
October 7, 2018
Fill us with your love, O Lord
Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)
October 14, 2018
Our settings in English for next Sunday are by Alejandro D. Consolacion II, Tinnah M. dela Rosa and Joey Delos Santos while our Filipino setting is by Dennis N. Marasigan.
In singing this responsorial psalm you make a dangerous request: you ask God for "wisdom of heart" and this will lead to deeper demands in discipleship. You are, in a sense, the young man in the gospel reading. You are also the disciples who struggle with Jesus' answer. Are you willing to make the request? Are you will to follow Jesus' answer? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2012, p. 225)

Sunday Psalm #320
September 30, 2018
May the Lord bless us Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time (B) October 7, 2018 Our settings in English for next Sunday are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa and Jeffrey Ray C. Miguel while our Filipino setting is by Dennis N. Marasigan. The refrain to this responsorial psalm is a prayer of blessing over the people. Spend some time praying this week for members of your parish and for the whole church. Pray that they be blessed with the fulfillment and peace that come from walking in the ways of God with hearts open to one another. (Cf. Living Liturgy 2012, p. 221) Please click the pictures or the highlighted link to download the high resolution PDF files of our composers.
