When was the last time you felt a great sense of gratitude before God? Are your prayers filled with thanksgiving and praise, or full of petitions?
There are times when we have so much on our plates that we fail to see and realize that we have a God who is faithful, who leads us to goodness, who never forgets and whose grace is truly more than enough for us.
Take a few moments to reflect on God’s presence and grace in your life. Let the song, “Your Grace is Enough” by Matt Maher lead you in a prayer of thanksgiving and self-surrender, believing that the Lord is a God of love, graciousness and generosity.
We hope that you can say: "Lord, your grace is enough for me!" May you be able to utter these words with full trust in God's care and mercy and gratitude for all the experiences that come your way.
Have a grace-filled Thursday!

Have you ever felt left out? Did you ever have issues with belonging? Have you ever gone “hungry from birth” for physical nourishment or for something that physical food will not satisfy? Recall these moments.
No matter how disadvantaged you may have felt during those moments, remember that you are never alone. Many have traveled roads such as yours, including Jesus himself. These experiences may leave strong feelings of marginalization that may drive you inward, especially if certain feelings of anger and resentment fester within you. But perhaps they could also be an invitation to use these experiences of being marginalized to journey with those who are also outcasts, poor and downtrod... to journey with them and give them strength.
As you pray with the song, "God Help The Outcasts" from the movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame, ask the Lord for the grace to welcome others as he welcomed them, to recognize those very people whom society treats as anonymous, and to honor them with the dignity they deserve. Finally, pray for the ability to remember that they are also children of God.
May God help the outcasts...

Responsorial Psalm Ps 8:4-5, 6-7, 8-9
R. (2a) O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!
When I behold your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars which you set in place --
What is man that you should be mindful of him,
or the son of man that you should care for him?
R. O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!
You have made him little less than the angels,
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him rule over the works of your hands,
putting all things under his feet:
R. O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth!
All sheep and oxen,
yes, and the beasts of the field,
The birds of the air, the fishes of the sea,
and whatever swims the paths of the seas.

Have you ever experienced feeling empty or unsatisfied even when you seem to have everything?
Sometimes we are surrounded by people we love or have enough financial resources and yet still feel like there is something missing. Or sometimes we are put in positions of honor or power yet deep within some of us still experience an emptiness or a void that cannot be satisfied.
Have you tried letting go and letting God fill that void inside you?
As you prayerfully listen to Gary Valenciano's song "Letting Go," we hope you can find time to lift up to the Lord your feelings of emptiness. If there are things that worry you, try to cast your cares and burdens unto the Lord and let Him hold your hand. Spend some time in prayerful silence to allow the Lord to fill your emptiness with His love.

How well do you know the youth that you are leading in prayer?
Our PraySing material for today is a journal article that can help youth ministers, teachers, and catechists re-discover the youth that we are leading towards God. This article entitled "Perspectives on Evangelizing the Youth Using Music and Dance" is published by MST Review in 2011.
Fernando P. Guillen, Sch.P. writes in the MST Review:
"Ms. Tinnah M. dela Rosa talks about evangelizing the youth through music and dance. In this article, she presents a summary of her thesis "Practical, Inculturated and Integrated Liturgies for the Spiritual Exercises" (2010) at the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music (AILM). Her article tackles all the aspects of the topic. She does not forget the teaching of the Church (Evangelii Nuntiandi) and the biblical basis of evangelization according to the General Directory for Catechesis. She gives special attention to the Asian and Filipino contexts, using Ecclesia in Asia and Ka-Lakbay. Young people in the Philippines are increasingly using the internet technology, which has led to rising patterns of anxiety and moral decay. However, their longings provide cues for evangelization. The section on music and dance covers the anthropological, biblical, liturgical and spiritual aspects, without forgetting stillness. Finally, the applications to evangelization are given according to three luminous principles, both traditional and modern. The article should be useful, not only to campus ministry apostles, but also to all those in parishes and organizations who are trying to put in practice the 'renewed integral evangelization' adopted by the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines (PCP) II." MST Review, 2011, pages 97-122.

Are you the type who worries about everything or someone who wants to be in control all the time? What do you do when anxiety fills your world?
“Don’t you worry about anything, instead pray about everything.”— It’s easier said than done, especially when there are countless tasks to be accomplished. Take a moment to ponder on these questions and thoughts.
The peace of God is not an earthly peace, not merely the absence of disturbance, noise or war. It’s a peace that is beyond our understanding and a gift that only God can give.
Whatever burdens or worries you may have at this very moment, lay them down before the Lord and let God’s peace fill your being as you pray with and reflect on the song, “The Peace of God,” by Scripture Lullabies. Ask for the grace of His peace, the very same peace that Christ Jesus has offered and brought to the world.
Have a peaceful Thursday!

Thursday Music #35
May 2, 2013
Have you ever experienced being so helpless or weak because of life’s challenges? Were there times you felt like giving up or when you thought you were not strong enough to withstand such trials? Recall these experiences and ponder on these questions for a moment.
We don’t have to face such experiences alone. When our will to carry on seems limited, we may turn to our God of strength and compassion, who is always ready to give us a hand and lift us up. We may be in the middle of an assortment of problems or have hit rock bottom, but we must not lose hope - hope in the strength, refuge and salvation of God.
As you pray and reflect on the song, “Strong Enough” by Matthew West, ask not only for the grace to be strong enough to overcome challenges in life but also the humility to come to our Lord just as we are. May we all learn to trust and understand that God is always with us. He is all the strength we will ever need.
Have a blessed Thursday!
