Sunday Psalm #248
May 28, 2017
Lord, send out your spirit Solemnity of Pentecost June 4, 2017 The English psalm settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa, Joey Delos Santos, Patrick John M. Fernandez, and Pfotokho Kayina while the Filipino setting is by Dennis N. Marasigan. We also have a Vigil Mass psalm by Tinnah M. dela Rosa. The gospel for Pentecost this year indicates that the primary power Jesus gives the disciples through the Spirit is the power to forgive sins. How does forgiveness bring about renewal? How have you yourself experienced the renewing power of forgiveness? Where in your life right now do you need to ask the Spirit for this power? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 151) Please click the picture or the highlighted link to download the high resolution PDF files of our composers. Sunday Psalm #247
May 21, 2017
God mounts his throne to shouts of joy The Ascension of the Lord May 28, 2017 The English psalm settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa, Joey Delos Santos, Patrick John M. Fernandez and Kent Lardizabal while the Filipino settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa, Jeffrey Ray C. Miguel, and Christian Yañez. Psalm 47 is used for the celebration of the Ascension in all three Lectionary years and can easily be interpreted as referring only to this historical event in the life of Christ. The challenge is to move beyond historicizing to the broader picture of what the church is celebrating when she sings this psalm on this day. What does it mean that Christ is head of his church (second reading)? What does it mean that through the gift of the Spirit the church shares in the power of Christ (first reading)? What does it mean that Christ who is enthroned in heaven also remains among us (gospel)? Reflecting on questions such as these as you prepare will enable you to sing this psalm for the assembly with far deeper understanding. (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 143) Please click the picture or the highlighted link to download the high resolution PDF files of our composers. Sunday Psalm #246
May 14, 2017
Let all the earth cry out to God with joy
Sixth Sunday of Easter (A)
May 21, 2017
The English psalm settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa and Patrick John M. Fernandez.
This responsorial psalm reminds you that singing God's praises for the gift of redemption is not a private activity but a public proclamation. You invite "all on earth" to "hear" what you have to declare, to "come and see" what God has done, to join you in "glorious praise" of God. Your ministry as cantor, then, reaches far beyond the ears of the assembly gathered before you. Its dimensions are cosmic. As part of your preparation this week, you might take some time to reflect on the awesome reach of your role and to ask the Spirit to give you the capacity to meet it. (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 139)

Sunday Psalm #245
May 7, 2017
Lord, let your mercy be on us
Fifth Sunday of Easter (A)
May 14, 2017
The English psalm setting is by Tinnah M. dela Rosa while the Filipino setting is by Marc Misael S. Gamil.
These verses from Psalm 33 convey utmost trust in God whose word is true, whose works are reliable, and whose kindness is granted to all who hope. In the gospel Jesus invites you to place this trust in him, for whoever knows him knows God. How has your celebration of this Easter season helped you grow in your knowledge of Jesus? What struggles with faith in him do you still experience? Who/what helps you to trust in him even in the midst of these struggles? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 135)
