Sunday Psalm #239
March 26, 2017
With the Lord there is mercy Fifth Sunday of Lent (A) April 2, 2017 The English psalm settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa and Jeffrey Ray C. Miguel while the Filipino setting is by Kent Lardizabal. The depth of hope you express in singing Psalm 130 will be determined by the depth of your experience of human anguish, both your own own and that of the whole world. Ask Christ for a heart wide enough to contain this, compassionate enough to weep over it, and trusting enough to count on God to turn suffering and death into redemption and new life. (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 101) Please click the picture or the highlighted link to download the high resolution PDF files of our composers. Sunday Psalm #238
March 19, 2017
The Lord is my shepherd
Fourth Sunday of Lent (A)
March 26, 2017
The English psalm settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa, Joey Delos Santos and Jeffrey Ray C. Miguel while the Filipino settings are by Kent Lardizabal, Jeffrey Ray C. Miguel and Dennis N. Marasigan.
One aspect of the gospel story of the man born blind seems to contradict the shepherd imagery of Psalm 23. Jesus heals the man, then seems to abandon him to the ire of the temple authorities. The man must stand on his own while even his parents cower. Beneath the story line, however, is the hidden presence of Jesus, who knows what is happening and seeks the man out when his ordeal is over. The shepherd God about whom you sing, then, is not one who shields you from the cost of discipleship but one who trusts your ability to deal with it. At what difficult points in life has God seemed absent from you? How have these experiences strengthened your sense of God's confidence in you? Who or what has helped you discover this hidden confidence? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 97)

Sunday Psalm #237
March 12, 2017
If today you hear his voice Third Sunday of Lent (A) March 19, 2017 The English psalm settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa and Jeffrey Ray C. Miguel while the Filipino setting is by Mark Anthony B. Laroya. Psalm 95 is quite a challenge to sing. The first two strophes are easy because you invite the assembly to praise and worship God. But the third is not easy. How do you challenge the community for having closed its heart to God? You can only do so with integrity if you have applied the message of the psalm to yourself. When do you close your heart against God? Who challenges you to reopen your heart? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 93) Please click the picture or the highlighted link to download the high resolution PDF files of our composers. Sunday Psalm #236
March 5, 2017
Lord, let your mercy be on us
Second Sunday of Lent (A)
March 12, 2017
The English psalm settings are by Tinnah M. dela Rosa, Kent Lardizabal and Jeffrey Ray C. Miguel while the Filipino setting is by Marc Misael S. Gamil.
As you sing these verses from Psalm 33 you express the hope fulfilled in the gospel reading. The unseen future to which Abram was called (first reading) is fully manifest in the shining face of Jesus on the mountaintop. You sing of the trust we can hold in the God who promises such a future to us. You are a beacon of hope to the assembly. How can you also be this beacon in your daily living to those who lack hope or need encouragement? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 87)
