If you had God's heart today as you looked at the world, how would you feel? How will these feelings drive you to live? How will these feelings move you to love?
We invite you to recall what you see in our world today. The world certainly has so much beauty and goodness in nature and in people. But we are also aware that in many places all around the globe are people suffering or reeling from the devastation caused by armed conflict, violence, or natural disasters.
As you recall what you see in the world, we invite you to pray with this song, "Your Heart Today," composed by Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ and performed by Bukas Palad Ministry. Where in your world is there 'fear you can allay'? Where do you see 'pain that you can heal' or 'wounds you can bind'? Is there a 'hunger in others that you can fill'? Speak to the Lord and ask for courage, strength, and compassion to love our broken world as he does - that you may be His heart today.
May God grant you courage, strength and compassion to be His heart today and everyday!
Many thanks to deathbyHF for the video!

Sunday Psalm #64
November 24, 2013
Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord
First Sunday of Advent (A)
December 1, 2013
This psalm setting for next Sunday is an original composition by Tinnah M. dela Rosa.
In singing this responsorial psalm you express the joy one feels in journeying toward God. This joy has a price, however, for to travel toward God means to leave behind one's present dwelling place. In your own life right now where is God calling you to "make a move"? How will making this move prepare you for the final coming of Christ? How in singing this psalm can you encourage the assembly to make this journey with you? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 3)

Have you ever felt helpless as you witnessed others go through their darkness? Have you ever felt strongly about carrying someone along a difficult road, only to realize that they must travel that road themselves?
Many of us must have felt helpless in the face of the extensive destruction wrought by typhoon "Haiyan." So many areas have been devastated. Though the typhoon has come and gone, many are still dazed, confused and reeling from the havoc it has wrought. Thousands have perished. But we are blessed that there are also many who survived and strive to live, and they are being supported by the relief efforts of many others.
Though we may not walk the same road the survivors are traveling, there is much that we can still do for them. We can work for the alleviation of their suffering while we pray with them. Today’s post focuses on praying with them.
As you listen to the song "I Will Pray for You" performed by Katherine Jenkins, we invite you to pray for those who have perished that they may find their road to the Lord. We invite you to lift up in prayer all those who have survived the typhoon but are now living in 'darkness.' Finally, we invite you to pray for all those who in various ways have been extending help to the victims that the Lord will strengthen and preserve them from weariness so that their generosity may touch many more lives.
No matter what situation you may find yourself in, let us all continue to pray for each other this Thursday!
Many thanks to willcanom for the video!

Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
November 24, 2013

Thursday Music #63

What can one do in the light of the recent tragedies in the Philippines caused by supertyphoon 'Yolanda'? Apart from working to help the survivors directly. We can also donate relief goods or money. We can also pray in the midst of our pain and sorrow.
This very sorrow that we are experiencing individually and collectively as a nation is not for naught. We invite you to pray about your pain and sorrow. Allow God to enter in and speak to God about your loss. Use this opportunity to lead you to a growth in compassion for others as you learn to share in their pain and are drawn deeper into contemplating the passion and death of Christ.
If it helps, we invite you to pray with the song, "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Webber and performed by The Priests. Join us in praying for all those who perished in the supertyphoon. Let us take refuge, hope and strength in Jesus’ own words in the Gospel of Luke (20:37-38), “That the dead will rise even Moses made known in the passage about the bush, when he called ‘Lord’ the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
Many thanks to mdragon1801 for the video and more importantly to the people all over the world who are living examples of God’s mercy as shown in their tireless solidarity, compassion and generosity.
May you be the Merciful Christ to others today and everyday especially to the poor, suffering and vulnerable.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to all those who lost loved ones because of super typhoon 'Yolanda' (International Name: Haiyan) which made landfall in the Philippines last November 8, 2013.
We grieve with all of you and wish to dedicate this simple piece to all those who will be laying to rest a beloved family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker. Our hearts go out to you.
This piece, "Huling Habilin at Pamamaalam" is drawn from the Official Filipino Translation of the Final Commendation in the Order of Christian Funerals. It was set to music by Tinnah dela Rosa. A high resolution PDF of this song may be downloaded here.
As the Filipino people try to stand up once again after this devastation, let us continue to pray that our beloved dead may find rest with the Lord. Let us also find ways to simplify our lives so that we can re-direct our priorities and resources to help the relief efforts currently being done.
God bless us all!

Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time (C)
November 17, 2013
This psalm setting for next Sunday is an original composition by Tinnah M. dela Rosa.

Have you ever felt an emptiness inside you that no wealth, no fame, no power or no human being can adequately fill? How is your desire for material possessions, fame, power or relationships leading you towards God? Have these desires distracted you from our real goal which is God?
As you pray with this song, "Letting Go" by Gary Valenciano, recall the many blessings in your life that you might be attached to but do not necessarily fill your life or make you feel complete. Recognize how they are merely means for you to discover who you are and how you are called to become by God. Remember that they are not an end in themselves for our real goal is the Lord. Speak to the Lord about how you can keep your gaze on him. Listen to what God has to say about how you can learn to let go.
May you have a meaningful Thursday! Many thanks to ThruLifeProd for the video!

Lord, When Your Glory Appears
Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time (C)
November 10, 2013
These two psalm settings for next Sunday are original compositions by James S. Swu and Tinnah M. dela Rosa.
James Swu studied and lived in Manila for many years. He is now back home in Nagaland, India where he is a composer, conductor and educator. His psalm was composed especially for the National Youth Day held in 2011. He has given PraySing Ministry permission to post this psalm for this coming Sunday.
In this responsorial psalm you proclaim your faith in God's promise of eternal life and your choice to remain faithful to discipleship no matter what its costs. What conversation might you have with Christ this week to give you courage and strengthen your hope? (Cf. Living Liturgy, p. 249)
