Have you been filled with fear lately? Fear is such a strong emotion that can pull us down. Fear can bring out a string of other emotions like worry, despair, and anxiety.
Fear can be your greatest enemy.
However, Jesus tells us not to be afraid. He is already there, ahead of us. He promised us this way before different superheroes uttered the same lines. Deuteronomy 31:8 promised us: The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Never fear, Jesus is already there!
Remember those times you doubted the Lord’s presence. Do we only think of Him in times of despair? Be assured that He is there, already a step forward from where you are at, looking after you, and telling you not to be afraid.
We invite you to continue your reflection through this beautiful song by contemporary Christian rock band, Casting Crowns (www.castingcrowns.com), whose ministering words are translated into modern-day harmonies which everyone can relate to.
May we always keep on trusting and believing that Jesus is our Way, Truth, and Life.
Thanks to pekagirly for the video!

Glory to you, O Christ, you are the Word of God!
The following variants of the above are also acceptable:
Praise and honor to you, Lord Jesus Christ!
Glory and praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!
Glory to you, Word of God, Lord Jesus Christ!
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ, King of endless glory!
We hope this helps you in your celebration of the liturgy this Lent.

Sunday Psalm #77
February 23, 2014
Rest in God alone, my soul
8th Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)
March 2, 2014
This psalm setting for next Sunday is an original composition by Tinnah M. dela Rosa.
Your singing of this responsorial psalm needs to come from being filled with confidence and trust in God. When are you most able to "rest in God"? What leads you to become restless and worried? How in the midst of worry do you refocus on God? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 69)

How beautiful is God to you?
We may find ourselves at times in great awe with the wonders and beauty of God’s creation, the grandeur of nature, diversity of animals, and even the goodness of people. We may also realize that everything He has made is good. But do we also take time to ponder on the Giver of such gifts, the Creator of all things?
Sometimes we come to God in prayer asking for petitions or intercessions. Perhaps in this time of prayer you can relish the opportunity of simply being in the presence of our beautiful and holy God.
Reflect and dwell on how God has been beautiful to you in the various moments of your life as you pray with the song, “Beautiful” by Kari Jobe. What lines from the song strike a chord in you? How beautiful is God to you? Make use of this time of prayer in thanksgiving for God’s tremendous love and overflowing mercy.
May others find the beautiful God in you each day. Have a lovely Thursday!
Many thanks to Jenn Bowers for the video!

Sunday Psalm #76
February 16, 2014
The Lord is kind and merciful
7th Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)
February 23, 2014
Our three psalm settings for next Sunday are original compositions by our contributors Tinnah M. dela Rosa (in English), Mark Anthony B. Laroya (in Filipino) and our new contributor Marc Misael S. Gamil (in Filipino).
Marc Misael is a choir director, music educator, organist, pianist and choral arranger We are blessed to have him join our growing family of psalm composers at PraySing Ministry!
In singing this responsorial psalm you tell the assembly about the holiness of God who is compassionate, merciful, and forgiving. This is the holiness to which they are called (See the first reading and gospel). Where do you see this holiness in the assembly? In yourself? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 65)

Have you already found a love that sees you through?
We will come to witness the annual celebration of the love people have found as we approach the day of hearts. We will celebrate our romantic love as well as our other loves for our parents, children, siblings, relatives and friends. But on a day such as Valentine's Day, we can tend to focus solely on our love for another person and forget the One that breathes life into our loving - God.
Recall the many people who have become your 'shelter from the storm' or have 'seen your through many challenges.' Thank the Lord for each of them. They are blessings.
Pause and take time, too, to reflect on how the song, "The Love I Found in You," by Jim Brickman also reflects God's love for us. How often has the Lord been your shelter? How has God seen you through? Let us reflect on this limitless love of God for each one of us. Spend some time in prayer to thank the Lord for his love.
May you spread God’s love every day. Have a love-filled Thursday!
Many thanks to Shir277 for the video!

Be merciful, O Lord
Ash Wednesday
March 5, 2014
The season of Lent is less than a month away. To help music ministers prepare meaningfully for this season, we will be sharing materials for your Lenten services in the next few Tuesday PraySing posts.
This psalm setting for Ash Wednesday is an original composition by Tinnah M. dela Rosa for PraySing Ministry. It also happens to be the psalm for the First Sunday of Lent.
In Psalm 51 you acknowledge that you have sinned and ask God for forgiveness. In singing it you stand before the community as a living embodiment of both sides of the story of salvation: human sinfulness and God's ever-redeeming mercy. Such witness demands a great deal of vulnerability. Can you do it? How can God help you do it? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 81) Pray about this as you prepare to sing this psalm.

Sunday Psalm #75
February 9, 2014
Blessed are they who follow the law of the Lord!
6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 16, 2014
Our two psalm settings for next Sunday are original compositions by our regular contributor Tinnah M. dela Rosa (in English) and our new contributor Dennis N. Marasigan (in Filipino).
Our multi-faceted new contributor, Dennis, is also an accomplished director, writer, lighting designer, actor, producer and teacher. We are blessed to have him join our growing family of psalm composers at PraySing Ministry!
Wholehearted obedience to God's law leads not to a rigid heart but to a warm one. How have you grown over the years in your understanding of God's law? How has God's law made you more compassionate, more merciful, more truthful, more just? Where do you need to continue growing? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 61)

Thursday Music #75
February 6, 2014
Worried? Anxious? Distressed? Nervous? Not at peace?
Sometimes, we feel emotions that make it difficult for us to become who we must be at the moment: Loving… Generous… A face and visible presence of God on earth.
We always pray to be free and safe from "all distress" or "useless anxieties" at mass. However, do we lift them up in continuous hope that there is always Somebody who loves us and will never ever leave us alone in darkness?
What are the words of hope you usually hear and see? Take time to recall and ponder them. It’s time to hear those little prophets around you and see their message of hope and life. God dreams to awaken always those ‘dry bones’ in us.
May God’s love keep you always in peace and happiness.
Many thanks to ClothedbyGrace for the inspiring video.

Tuesday PraySing #74
February 4, 2014
Our PraySing Ministry material today is the "Lord, Have Mercy" or the "Kyrie," from the Gaudium Mass composed and arranged by Tinnah M. dela Rosa.
The Penitential Rite “functions as a ritual purification of the assembly as it undertakes its corporate worship of God” (Handbook of Liturgical Studies: III The Eucharist, 214). These simple responses remind the priest and congregation that Christ is merciful. This song is an affirmation of praise for Christ’s mercy.
Aside from this cantor-choir version of the "Lord, Have Mercy," the Gaudium Mass songbook and CD also offer several options: the "Penitential Act" (versions a and b) and "Lord, Have Mercy" (for choir). You may review the simple music sheet of the melodic line here.
This video was recorded live during the first communion of Stella Maris College last December 1, 2013.

The just man is a light in darkness
5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 9, 2014
This psalm setting for next Sunday is an original composition by Tinnah M. dela Rosa.
How over the years have you come to understand what it means to live as a just person? Who stands for you as examples of truly just persons? What stands in the way of your being a just person? (Cf. Living Liturgy 2011, p. 57)
