Responsorial Psalm Ps 118:2-4, 13-15, 22-24
R. (1) Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love is everlasting.
or:
R. Alleluia.
Let the house of Israel say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let the house of Aaron say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
Let those who fear the LORD say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
R. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love is everlasting.
or:
R. Alleluia.
I was hard pressed and was falling,
but the LORD helped me.
My strength and my courage is the LORD,
and he has been my savior.
The joyful shout of victory
in the tents of the just:
R. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love is everlasting.
or:
R. Alleluia.
The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
By the LORD has this been done;
it is wonderful in our eyes.
This is the day the LORD has made;
let us be glad and rejoice in it.
R. Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love is everlasting.
or:
R. Alleluia.
Give thanks to the Lord

Thursday Music #30
March 28, 2013
Today we invite you to contemplate the cross of Christ.
As you gaze on the cross, recall the immensity of God's love poured out for us. Think for a moment...How wondrous is God's love that he gave us his only Son to save us from sin?
As you pray with the song, "What Wondrous Love is This" performed by Mountain Blue, take a moment or two to speak to the Lord about his wondrous love. How is the Lord inviting you to respond because of his love?
Have a meaningful and prayerful celebration of the rest of these days of Lent. Below are the lyrics of the song.
-------
What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul.
When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down beneath God's righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul, for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing.
To God and to the Lamb Who is the great 'I am';
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing;
While millions join the theme, I will sing.
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on, I'll sing on;
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing on.
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing and joyful be;
And through eternity, I'll sing on, I'll sing on;
And through eternity, I'll sing on.

Are you going through a dark period in your life caused by hatred, doubt, despair or sadness? Or is the Lord giving you opportunities to be an instrument of peace?
As you ponder on the Prayer of Saint Francis composed by Ryan Cayabyab, may you remember that the Lord invites us all to experience the peace that only His love brings.
Let us also pray in a special way for our newly elected Pope Francis who chose his name in honor of St. Francis of Assisi because he is a lover of the poor. Before being elected pope, he had a special place in his heart and his ministry for the poor, for the disenfranchised, for those living on the fringes and facing injustice. May his journey as pope also lead the church to a renewed sense of faith in the One who has loved us first.
Below is the text of the Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi:

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury,pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen Many thanks to Joycel Alagao for the video! |

Responsorial Psalm Ps 22:8-9, 17-18, 19-20, 23-24
R. (2a) My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
All who see me scoff at me;
they mock me with parted lips, they wag their heads:
“He relied on the LORD; let him deliver him,
let him rescue him, if he loves him.”
R. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
Indeed, many dogs surround me,
a pack of evildoers closes in upon me;
They have pierced my hands and my feet;
I can count all my bones.
R. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
They divide my garments among them,
and for my vesture they cast lots.
But you, O LORD, be not far from me;
O my help, hasten to aid me.
R. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
I will proclaim your name to my brethren;
in the midst of the assembly I will praise you:
“You who fear the LORD, praise him;
all you descendants of Jacob, give glory to him;
revere him, all you descendants of Israel!”
R. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?

Thursday Music #28
PraySing Ministry joins the many Christians and Catholics in thanking the Lord for Pope Francis I.
Let this song remind us to pray for our new pope as he also prays for us. May his journey as pope also lead the church to a renewed sense of faith in the One who has loved us first.
-------------
March 14, 2013
Has anyone ever asked you to pray for them?
Sometimes there are heartaches so deep and journeys so long and winding that all we can do for another is to pray - that their heart may someday find peace and that they may one day reach their journey's destination.
As you listen to this song, recall all the persons who have asked you for prayers. Spend some time in quiet reflection to bring to the Lord the intentions of those who have asked your help through prayer. Believe that the Lord listens to all who call on him.
May this song bring you peace today. The song, "I Will Pray for You," is performed by Katherine Jenkins.
Many thanks to ShareHisGoodNews for the video!

Responsorial Psalm Ps 126:1-2, 2-3, 4-5, 6
R. (3) The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
When the LORD brought back the captives of Zion,
we were like men dreaming.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with rejoicing.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Then they said among the nations,
“The LORD has done great things for them.”
The LORD has done great things for us;
we are glad indeed.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like the torrents in the southern desert.
Those that sow in tears
shall reap rejoicing.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.
Although they go forth weeping,
carrying the seed to be sown,
They shall come back rejoicing,
carrying their sheaves.
R. The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.

What is your deepest desire? What do you most long for?
The message of this ancient poem written in the 8th century and first published in 1909 still rings true. When one’s vision is focused on God, our priorities fall into place.
Where is God in your longing and in your deepest desire? Speak to God about what may be blurring your vision from focusing on him and his love.
May this song, "Be Thou My Vision," performed by Corinne May help you refocus your love and your life on God whose deepest desire is our heart.
Have a wonderful Thursday!
Many thanks to INTO THE LIGHT for the video!

Monday Prayer #26
March 4, 2013
Do you understand the mind of God? Are you able to grasp the mystery of God's abiding love for you?
Faith is reasonable and understandable and yet, it is also a mystery for God unfolds and reveals God's self in our lives each day. There is always more to know and to understand about God which makes this mystery even more awe-inspiring.
Behold the mystery of God's love for you and bring this in prayer. Are there aspects about God's ways that you don't fully comprehend? Speak to God about this. As you contemplate the wisdom of God, may the song, "Eye Has Not Seen" (based on 1 Corinthians 2:6-10) by Marty Haugen bring you to an even deeper love for the one Whom you seek to understand.
May this prayer be yours today and throughout this week: "Spirit of love, come, give us the mind of Jesus, teach us the wisdom of God."
Many thanks to impasse0124 for the video!

the lowly will hear me and be glad.
R. Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
Glorify the LORD with me,
let us together extol his name.
I sought the LORD, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
R. Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
Look to him that you may be radiant with joy,
and your faces may not blush with shame.
When the poor one called out, the LORD heard,
and from all his distress he saved him.
R. Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
Taste and see the goodness of the Lord

Responsorial Psalm Ps 34:2-3, 4-5, 6-7
R. (9a) Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall be ever in my mouth.
Let my soul glory in the LORD;
the lowly will hear me and be glad.
Saturday Q&A #26
March 2, 2013
Ever wondered how they choose the Pope? This video by BustedHalo gives a picture of the process of selecting the next pope.
Let us pray that the Holy Spirit fills the Papal Conclave just as in the Upper Room 2,000 years ago. As the College of Cardinals convenes to select our next pope, may they be like the apostles together with Mary at Pentecost, allowing Holy Spirit to enlighten their being so they may open up to God's will, think His thoughts, do His deeds and speak His words. With all our hearts we hope that God's wise and merciful plans may be put into action through his cardinals.
Please join PraySing Ministry in prayer as our cardinals convene to select the next pope.
Many thanks to Busted Halo for the video!

Friday Inspiration #26
March 1, 2013
What do you see when you look at your reflection? Do you recognize the person that you are before the mirror? Are you able to see the reflection of the One who made you?
The concerns of life sometimes make it challenging for us to see in ourselves the reflection of the Lord, the One whose dignity and worth we ought to mirror by our very lives and daily choices. Whatever our personal circumstances may be, we have invaluable worth and dignity that comes only from the Lord, not from our families or what society dictates.
Speak to the Lord about who you are to Him. What does He say about who you are? How does God's image of you manifest in the way you live? Spend some time today prayerfully reflecting on this.
Have an inspiring Friday! May you come to terms with the reflection of God's goodness that resides on the other side of the mirror as you listen and pray with the song "Reflection," sung by Lea Salonga in the movie Mulan.
Thanks to DisneySongLyrics for the video!
